2006 OEC Refresher and Chair Evacuation

September 8, 2006 TO:   Members of the Cascade Mountain Ski Patrol FROM:  Jennifer Thompson, DVM    2006 OEC Refresher Instructor of Record RE:  2006 OEC Refresher and Chair Evacuation WHEN:  September 30 and October 1, 2006 TIME:   7:30 AM Saturday, 8:00 AM Sunday WHERE:  Cascade Mountain, Portage, WIIntroduction Well school is back in session for the kids and soon the snow will be starting to fall.  This also means that it its time for us to refresher our skills at the 2006 OEC Refresher.  By now you should have received your Summer 2006 NSP Magazine, On Scene, with the OEC Refresher Study Guide inside.  If you have not received this please call Nationals at (303) – 988 – 1111, or e-mail at: registration@nsp.org to request a copy, or log onto the NSP website to download a copy of the study guide. You will also need to bring to refresher your OEC card.   1. In order to be credited with refresher completion, you must complete and submit the appropriate registration forms in the NSP Magazine Study Guide.  If you are on the Cascade Patrol Roster, you will need to complete the “Supplemental Roster Information” form.   Patrollers refreshing from or at another hill will need to submit the “Completion Acknowledgement” form to the Patrol Director for Refresher verification.  These records will be the only permanent documents of your refresher completion. 
  2. MANDATORY FULL DAY ATTENDANCE  You must be present and participate the entire day of the refresher in order to be certified for completion.  If this is not possible please see #3 below.  
  3. ATTENDANCE AT ANOTHER REFRESHER  Anyone who needs to attend another refresher please contact either myself  (Jennifer Thompson, DVM) or our Assistant Patrol Director Joe Riley at 608-825-9956 or e-mail him at jjriley76@earthlink.net.  
  4. $65.00 Dues  In order to expedite the registration process, all dues must be postmarked prior to September 18.  Pre-registration is required and (no late fee this year, but PAY AT REFRESHER or earlier!)late fees will be assessed as follows: $10.00 late fee after September 18, $20.00 late fee for dues paid the day of refresher.  Therefore dues received the day of refresher will be $85.00.  Please enclose with your payment the following information:  your NSP member number, your current address and your current e-mail address.  There will be NO follow-up mailings to remind you about dues.  Also if your mailing information is NOT current this is NOT an excuse to get out of late fees.  No passes (family or individual) will be issued if dues (and associated late fees) are unpaid.  Please make checks payable to: Cascade Mountain Ski Patrol.  Mail to the following address:
