Hi everyone, I hope your summer is going well, it's hard to believe that it's almost Labor day.I just wanted to send out a reminder that this years refresher will be on October 6th & 7th, and to plan on two full days. We will be training on some new pieces of equipment this year, along with the Cycle C contents. We will also be offering CPR after the Chair evac on Sunday for those of you that haven't re-certified elsewhere.Complete refresher information will be coming shortly, so for now enjoy the rest of your summer.
Mark your calendars, the 2007 Refreshers will happen October 6-7 at Cascade Mountain. Saturday is the OEC Refresher, and Sunday is the Chair Evac Refresher. Watch your mailbox for more information! --Andy
Cascade Mountain Ski patrol will be holding an OEC class beginning in August this year. The class will be held at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage and will be on Sunday nights from 5-9 pm. As of right now, it looks like 17 candidates for the class. (Five more are attending the Madison class.) We will be needing lots of help for the practice and scenarios each Sunday night and are asking for your help. If you could even help one Sunday night--that would be great.
It is a great way to stay involved, and meet the new candidates. We plan on having a great time--along with the hard work. I have attached the schedule to this email so that you will know the dates and times.
If you can come and help--that would be great! Please let me know what dates you are planning, so that I can make sure we have enough help each night. You may email, or call me.
Thank You,
Lynn Thornton
With the next OEC Class, a Mentor Program will be initiated to assist the OEC Candidate in gettting information about OEC and the Cascade Mountain Ski Patrol. In order for this to work, volunteers will be needed to step-up and help out. So far there are ten potential Candidates for 2007-2008 and I would like to match them up two per Patrol Mentor. As a Mentor you will be the point of contact for the Candidate and provide them with information about the Patrol and the upcoming OEC Class information as it becomes available. When the OEC Classes begin, you might want to be in attendance for the first couple of weeks to see that the people you are assisting remain committed and do not drop out. This will take some additional time and effort but the result of keeping Candidates in the program will be of great benefit. If you are interested in this opportunity, please call me at 608.846.6016 or home 608.255.4071 or email (gary_j@evcoplastics.com)
Photos from this year's refresher have been posted. Please let Andy know if you have some more photos to post at loron@yahoo.com
